Rebecca Ferguson has such a fantastic voice! I absolutely love her new song Rebecca Ferguson Glitter and Gold. I’ve been listening to the song on repeat for the past hour as I simply can’t get enough of Rebecca’s gritty, down to earth vocal stylings, and the wonderful lyrics of the song. There are a couple of reasons why the lyrics of this song particularly resonate with me. Firstly, I’ve tried to make myself happier by filling my life with material things before, and it simply doesn’t work. As the song says, “All that glitter and all that gold won’t buy you happy.” No amount of money can bring a person the kind of happiness that friendships can. And I’ve been guilty before of thinking that friends I haven’t talked to in years, friends from my childhood, aren’t worth staying in touch with anymore because I’ve changed so much since we were close. The song also stresses how important old friends are. And that is really so true. All friendships should be treasured forever.
